Creating a new border meant reorientating and enlarging the existing planted area to align squarely with the house.
This meant removing the blight affected box hedges, realigning the path, removing the existing steps and creating a new access ramp suitable for a wheelchair and a ride-on mower
The new planting scheme will favour late summer and autumn performers that retain strong architectural structure through winter, ornamental grasses, robust perennials. underplanted with bulbs to extend seasonal interest, while selecting more drought tolerant, lower maintenance species that reduce watering needs and long term upkeep.
This new border will mature and deliver a striking composition, playing with the light and injecting movement into the garden.
